Make a QR code that never expires

Generated in your browser and yours to keep. Most free QR services route the code through their own domain so they can track the scans, which also means your code stops working the day they shut down or start charging. This one points straight at your link.

The most common use.

Higher survives a scuffed or partly covered print, but makes the pattern denser.

Your QR code appears here.

SVG for anything printed, since it stays sharp at any size. PNG for screens. This code points straight at your link, so it will not expire.

Common questions about qr code generators

Do QR codes expire?

A plain QR code never expires, because the destination is encoded in the pattern itself. What expires is a dynamic QR code from a service that redirects through their domain, and those stop working the moment the service does. The codes here are the plain kind.

Should I download PNG or SVG?

SVG for anything printed, because it stays sharp at any size, from a business card to a shop window. PNG for screens, email and social. If you are sending it to a printer, send the SVG.

How small can a QR code be printed?

About two centimetres square is the practical floor for a short link scanned from close up, and bigger for anything scanned from a distance. The rule of thumb is that the code should be about a tenth of the distance it will be scanned from. Always test the actual print, not the screen.

Why is my QR code not scanning?

Usually too small, too little contrast, or no quiet zone, which is the blank margin around the pattern. Dark code on a light background with clear space around it scans; a pale code over a photograph does not, however good it looks in the design.
