One image, every favicon size
Upload a square image and get every size a browser or phone actually asks for, plus the HTML to paste into your head tag. Everything is generated in your browser, so the image is never uploaded to us.
Your image
Square works best, at least 512 pixels. Nothing is uploaded.
iPhones fill transparent icons with black, which ruins most logos. Pick a colour if yours is transparent.

Common questions about favicon generators
What size should a favicon be?
Start from a square image at least 512 pixels, and let the sizes be generated from it. Browsers ask for 16 and 32 for the tab, and phones ask for 180 and 192 for a home screen icon. Supplying only a 16 pixel image is why some favicons look like a smudge on a modern screen.
Where do I put the favicon files?
In the root of your site, next to your home page, then paste the generated HTML into the head of every page. Most frameworks and CMSs have a specific place for this, so check yours before dropping files in by hand.
Why is my favicon not updating?
Browsers cache favicons aggressively, far longer than normal pages. Try a hard refresh, then a private window, before assuming the file is wrong. It is almost always the cache.
Does a favicon matter for SEO?
Indirectly. Google shows a favicon beside your result on mobile search, so a missing or illegible one costs you clicks even though it does not change your position. That is a real cost, just not a ranking one.
